Other Offices
Besides the Major and Administrative Offices, are three other officers in Youth & Government - Committee Chairperson, Bill Flow Clerk and Head Clerk-Bailiff.
Committee Chairperson
Requirements - Candidate must be registered as a legislator.
Candidate Responsibilities - Must submit a Committee Chairperson Declaration of Candidacy Form (available from advisors) by the required deadline and chair a committee at both Pre-Leg 1 & 2.
Election - One is elected by each committee at all Pre-Leg 2 sites. Upon election, Committee Chairperson is required to submit a photo for the Program Book by the required deadline. Additionally, Committee Chairpersons are required to attending training sessions on the Thursday prior to the Springfield Assembly.
Duties - Committee Chairpersons will preside over a committee and attend a Special Committee session to hear lobbyist-written bills at the Springfield Assembly.
Bill Flow Clerk
Requirements - Candidate must be registered as a page.
Candidate Responsibilities - Must submit a Declaration of Candidacy Form for Bill Flow Clerk (available from advisors) by Pre-Leg 1.
Selection - A total of nine - three at each of the three Pre-Leg 2 sites - are selected by the Page Advisors.
Duties - Serve as a member of the bill flow staff, assisting the Secretary of State with the tracking of bills through the bill flow process.
Head Clerk-Bailiff
Requirements - Candidate must be registered as a clerk-bailiff.
Candidate Responsibilities - Those interested in becoming a Head Clerk-Bailiff may declare at the orientation meeting for Clerk-Bailiffs held on Friday at the Springfield Assembly.
